How I use your Personal Information

This notice is to let you know how I mange your personal information. This includes the information you give me when you contact me electronically or by mail, and the information I record of my contact(s) with you. It also includes the permissions you give me about what newsletters and marketing information you want me to send you. I am committed to protecting your privacy. I will only use the information that I collect about you lawfully (in accordance California Law and with EU General Data Protection Regulations [GDPR]  of May 25, 2018).

In addition to be protected by my privacy policy, you are protected by law.
The law allows me to use your personal information only if I have a justifiable reason to do so.

The law says I must have one or more of these reasons:

You provide data when you:

  • Make an enquiry electronically, by mail, by phone or Skype.
  • Apply to one of my courses
  • Attend one of my courses or engage in one or more counseling session(s)
  • Sign up to my newsletters
  • Interact with me on social media
  • Agree to take part in research
  • Provide me with services

If you choose not to give me personal information, it may prevent me from working effectively and safely with you.

In this instance I would be unable to enter into a working relationship with you.

Sharing your Data:

If you sign up to take the Lightning Process® Course I share your name, e-mail and the date of the course you are attending with the Head Office in London. I also share if you would like to be on their mailing-list for their newsletters, or you would allow them to contact you for any reason.  No personal information (such as age, address, phone number, or medical history is shared with the Head Office or anyone else).

I do not share your information with third parties unless you have given your permission to do so or there is a legal requirement to do so such as protection of yourself or others if we feel there is a risk, or we receive a legal request for your records.

We share your information only with those you have given us permission to contact, for example another local Lightning Process practitioner or your doctor (unless required to by law for the purpose of safeguarding yourself or others).

We will only send you information that you have agreed to receive. You may remove yourself from any mailing list, newsletter circulation or email from us at any point you choose.

Storing your Data

All data will be stored securely and in line with legal requirements.

I will store your clinical information for a maximum of 7 years after our last contact with you. Enquiries and applications that you make and then do not choose to follow up on, will be stored for 12 months. You may request these to be destroyed ahead of this timescale.


I may use your personal information to give you information and ongoing support, and to give you information about courses and offers. This is what I mean when I talk about ‘marketing’.

The personal information I have for you is made up of what you tell me, and data I collect when you use my services.

I can only use your personal information to send you marketing messages if I have your consent. You can ask me to stop sending you marketing messages by unsubscribing at any time.

I may ask you to confirm or update your choices, if you take out any new products or services with me in the future. I will also ask you to do this if there are changes in the law, regulation, or the structure of my business.


Some Lightning Process® clients offer to tell their personal story for me to share with other potential clients in Newsletters, on my Website or on my Face Book page for the purpose of sharing hope with other people who may struggle with similar issues. I never do this without written permission.

Sharing your personal story in this way is entirely voluntary and you as client control what you want to share about yourself and how you want to identify yourself  (if you want to enclose a picture of yourself, if you want to give your name or just initials, home city and/or state etc.) .  You may at any time contact me to have me remove or change the postings. No financial or other ‘reward’ is offered to clients who offer to tell their story. I will never share your identity or give our your contact information with anyone unless you specifically give me written permission to do so, and then only on a case-by-case basis.


I can only use your personal information to send you newsletters if I have your consent.

Your Rights

If you wish us to delete, remove or stop using your personal information I will do so on request as long as there is no legal or justifiable need for us to keep it. This is known as the ‘right to object’ or ‘right to erasure’ or the ‘right to be forgotten’. You may withdraw your consent at any time. If you withdraw your consent, I will be unable to provide products or services to you. Please contact me if you wish to withdraw your consent. You should understand that when exercising your rights, other legislation and requirements may take precedence over any request you make (for example my insurers insist I keep all clinical records for at least 7 years). In addition, where necessary I may be required by law to grant access to your data for law enforcement, legal and/or health related matters.

How to get a copy of your Personal Information

Please write to me at: VitalityTools, Berit Frivold, 11781 Nelson St., Loma Linda, CA 92354 requesting a copy of your personal information. I will provide the information to you within 28 days. If you believe the information held by me, about you, is wrong or incomplete please contact me. I will take reasonable steps to check it’s accuracy and correct it.
